My research aims to understand species diversity and evolutionary adaptations through the lens of genomics. The beginning of my career coincided with the rise of high-throughput sequencing, and I have become an expert in bioinformatics and evolutionary analysis of “big data”.

Over the past few years, I have worked on a wide variety of animal model systems, including chordates (tunicates) and more recently on mammals (bats and cetaceans). I consider my work to be broad and comparative, spanning multiple fields of evolutionary biology, including molecular evolution, phylogenomics and population genomics.
